Suave Dry Shampoo Review

What you will get is a shiny aluminium bottle with colorless spray. You will immediately notice the proud words "salon proven". No wonder, the product was initially intended for use in beauty salons. If you take a look on the back side of the bottle you will find the stylist recommendations (see below) and the main ingredients which are Propane, Aluminum Starch, Isobutane, Silica, SD Alcohol 40-B, Octenylsuccinate, Butane, Isopropyl Myristate.

The manufacturer says that it's mineral clay that helps absorb grease and odor. Many customers report that the level of absorption of Suave dry shampoo spray is considerably higher than that of many other brands they have tried.

If you go only one day without washing, it will probably be enough to apply the spray just once to clean and refresh your hair. However, when you skip two or more days you may need to spray several times throughout the day in order to attain the best level of absorption, especially in case of seriously greasy hair. Fortunately, the product doesn't significantly build up after several bursts.

Absorbing oil and dirt is not the only feature of this shampoo. Many reviewers also reported that this product also gave their hair additional volume and texture. Some even prefer to use it right after having their hair washed solely for this purpose. It also will make hair more managable and easy to comb and brush.

If you enjoy citrus fruit, you will surely like the smell of this spray. For many users it's this pleasant long-lasting fragrance that made it their product of choice. So if you are looking for an excellent hair refresher during or after a party, Suave dry shampoo will be a perfect option.

Main Features

  • Contains mineral clay to absorb grease and dirt
  • Adds more volume and texture
  • Has a pleasant fruity fragrance
  • Has no color
  • Meets NY and CA clean air standards

Before applying Suave dry shampoo shake the product intensively (for best results also shake it between spray bursts). Holding the bottle about ten inches from your head spray directly on the roots. Carefully rub in excess powder with your fingertips and palms. You can also massage it in slightly. Style your hair to your liking and feel yourself presentable 😉

This shampoo is awesome! Purchased on a whim because it was so inexpensive, and am really glad! It does a great work of absorbing grease and it leaves the cleaner feel towards the hair. I was a Psssst user, however its terrible smell made me look for another option. The Suave one comes with a scent, that I adore it. Will certainly be buying more of it!

  2. Laura says:

Thanks for sharing the Suave’s Facebook page. I wrote them yesterday and they said they would send me a coupon in a couple of weeks. Suave rules!

I also want to give this product a try. I think I even saw a Suave dry shampoo coupon in the Sunday paper, hehe 🙂

  5. Taylor says:

Really interesting, I use Batiste dry hair shampoo regularly and I would love a less expensive alternative!

  6. Sandra Gustafson says:

That is excellent news! I simply love Suave! I utilized O. Blandi and thought it was fine but rather pressing for my budget. But Suave price rocks! I will be buying it today!

  7. MP says:

I had high hopes with this product. I purchased when I had been running low of another dry shampoo. It sat practically unused on my personal shelf for 2-3 weeks. But now I use it pretty regularly, it’s really good for my hair.

  8. Jen says:

I’ve just got this and like it! So glad I’ve read your review before shopping!. Now I will use the cash I saved on some new make-up!

  9. Mollygonzo says:

I wonder whether dry shampoos are great for dry hair. I don’t wish to make my locks even drier. However, for $3, it’s worth a try.

  10. Steffy says:

I’ve got oily straight hair. I tried this for the very first time today and I can not wait to bath. It just seems heavy and cakey on my hair, I don’t like it at all. I won’t end up buying this once again.

  11. Siluet says:

I am upon my second bottle now. It does its job well and it is cheap. My only complaint is that it may evaporate if you do not use it constantly. I still purchase it because of the price, you cannot beat it. This works!
